Ginhong finished a YX series 1000 liters steam jacketed cooker for a food company to make sauces in Blenheim, New Zealand. Customer has the following requirements when they first contacted us for quotation.
Kettle fabricated in AISI 316
– Contra- Rotating mixer arm is bearing supported both top and bottom ensuring a smooth, quiet mixing process
– Contra- Rotating mixer arm is designed to prevent burn on as well as treating products gently
– Teflon tipped hinged scraper arms ensure smooth clean scraping action against the sides and bottom of the hemispherical dome shape of the process vessel
– Simple to clean
– Jacket can be used for cooking or cooling
– Digital Temperature Indicator for temperature control
– 2 x half-moon lids for hygiene
Technical details of 1000L steam jacketed cooker:
The interior of the tank has a dome base and is fitted with a 3″ product outlet including an air actuated discharge valve.
A swept surface (Teflon tipped) stirrer is top and bottom bearing supported and direct driven by a 3kW, 29rpm, 415V AC, 3 Phase gear motor.
An additional contra – rotating centrally mounted agitator is fitted with a 1.1kW, 49 rpm motor.
A digital (- 20 to 150 deg C ) temperature indicator indicates the temperature of the tank contents.
Design Pressure (WP) :prefer 700 kpa but 300 KPa will be considered

The steam jacketed cooker has two individual jackets, upper and lower jackets. This is so 1/2 size batches can be made. There are four ports on the same side of the cooker. From top to bottom, the upper most port is known as No.1 port and the bottom most port is known as No. 4 port which is located at the base of the cooker.

Material of Construction – 316 s/s (inner) 304 s/s (outer).
No.1 port is the steam inlet of the upper jacket.
No. 2 port is the condensate outlet of the upper jacket.
No.3 port is the steam inlet of the lower jacket.
No. 4 port is the condensate outlet of the lower jacket.
Two safety pressure relief valves must be mounted close to the inlet ports of the two jackets.
After we studied their requirements above, we communicated with customer and designed the right 1000L steam jacketed cooker with necessary modifications. We increased the motor powers to be able to finish the tough jobs in future. Since we’re already finished the cooker, it’ll be shipped soon to our customer in New Zealand.
